Between sign and sculpture
The first time I held a drawing was in late 2018.
Out of curiosity, I had purchased a 3D pen and, while tracing the first lines on a sheet meant to recall the figure of a child, I realized that its true potential did not lie in attempting to build three-dimensional objects, but rather in detaching those lines from the two-dimensional plane and freeing them into space.
In this way, the trace of any drawing made with that pen would become something solid and tangible, an entity made of pure line, not bound to a surface in order to exist, but self-sufficient.Moreover, being extremely light and reversible, its subtlety made it even more fascinating, especially when suspended in space.
These were not creations born from a sculptural approach, imposing force and shaping materials, but rather graphic works, rooted in my pictorial background.Sculptures that, before becoming such, were merely marks on a surface.
